| Job Description: |
- Aid patients for maintenance of hygiene and related activities.
- Following hospital's rules and operating procedures.
- Helping nursing, medical staff when required.
- Organizing medicines, logs and reports of patients.
- Assist Ward staff for patients in and out of taxis, ambulances or cars.
- Deliver and collect linen, rubbish, general waste, specimens and equipment.
- Maintain clean and prepare wheelchairs, trolleys and other equipment.
- Assist in administrative duties such as photocopying ward forms.
- Assist in the maintenance of stocks of linen and non-medical supplies.
- Assist Ward staff in lifting and turning patients, transporting them in wheelchairs, stretches or on movable beds between wards and departments.
- Clean rooms such as bathrooms, showers, utility rooms and offices and clean interior windows.
- Clean equipment in the pan room such as pan trolleys, buckets, pans, bowls, suction bottles and tubing, commodes, wheelchairs and seats, and rinse trays.
- Wash patients' lockers and tables.
- Help transport equipment, X-rays, patient records and deceased patients between wards, departments, theatres and mortuary.
- Cleans hospital patient rooms, baths, laboratories, offices, halls, and other areas: Washes beds and mattresses, and remakes beds after dismissal of patients.
- Keeps utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition.
- Distributes laundered articles and linens.
- Replaces soiled drapes and cubicle curtains.
- Performs other duties as described under CLEANER I Master Title.
- May disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides and sterilizing equipment.
