The Bank of Punjab is one of the leading banks of Pakistan with a large network of 638 online branches including Islamic Banking branches across Pakistan. BOP invites applications from high-caliber, seasoned professionals for the following position in its Legal Division, Head Office, Lahore

Major Responsibilities:

Chief Legal Officer shall be responsible for managing the Bank’s Corporate & Legal Affairs and rendering assistance in advising on legal viability of various Transactions, and Negotiation of Contracts.

The role includes carrying out of the legal analysis, expressing opinions, examining, scrutinizing, and drafting Legal Documents, advising and strategizing legal actions for the Bank. The Chief Legal Officer shall identify and advise on the structuring of the agreements, creation of security, collateralization, legal remedies, and evaluate options to address Regulatory, Corporate, Labor, and Financial matters.

The above position demands a highly motivated, results-oriented individual with demonstrated experience and leadership skills well-versed with applicable banking laws & practices. This position will report to President/CEO.

1. Ensure effective liaison with all law enforcement agencies, external bodies, and Government Authorities with regards to Bank’s legal matters.

2. Ensure effective representation of the Bank at all legal forums.

3. Maintaining close liaison with Provincial and Federal governmental bodies and legislatures.

4. Ensuring compliance of letters, complaints, Court Orders, Summons, SROs/Instructions received from various government departments and regulatory authorities.

5. Periodic updating of the status of pending/resolved important law enforcement/ legal matters to CEO and Board Committee(s).

General Eligibility Criteria:

Qualification: LLB or Equivalent Qualification from an HEC recognized university/foreign university. Candidates with LLM in corporate law will have added advantage.

Experience: Minimum 12 years of relevant banking/corporate sector experience of handling legal matters in a reputable organization including 03 years at senior managerial role.

Age: Upto 55 years as of 22.03.2021
