Project Objective
Project aims to strengthen social cohesion, empower urban slum communities in
KP (Peshawar, Kohat, Haripur) and Karachi through improved infrastructure, community-led project cycle management, and advance policy advocacy to improve access to essential services and inclusive, community-driven development in 12 targeted urban settlements.
Position Overview
The Project Manager will be based in Islamabad; manage project implementation in Peshawar, Kohat, Haripur-KP and Karachi-Sindh. The role requires strong technical expertise in urban planning, project management, budget management, multi-location team management and community engagement. The PM will ensure coordination among field teams, government authorities, donor, and internal departments to deliver the project efficiently, inclusively, and in line with donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project & Team Management
- Lead planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Manage teams in Peshawar, Kohat, Haripur, and Karachi.
- Ensure compliance with timelines, budgets, and donor standards.
2. Urban Planning & Technical Expertise
- Provide guidance on settlement planning, housing, and infrastructure improvements.
- Review technical designs, SSPs, BoQs, risk mitigation plans, and safeguards.
- Ensure climate resilience and gender-responsive design.
3. Stakeholder Coordination & Approvals
- Liaise with donor, municipal/provincial authorities, and community organizations.
- Facilitate internal and external approval processes and maintain internal coordination with Finance, MEAL, Supply Chain, and Program teams.
4. Community Engagement & Social Cohesion
- Oversee formation and strengthening of CBOs, CDCs, and CHATs.
- Promote inclusive dialogue, conflict-sensitive engagement, and participation of women, youth, and vulnerable groups.
5. Reporting & Donor Compliance
- Prepare donor reports, technical documentation, and case studies.
- Track budgets, procurement, MEAL data, and project progress.
- Maintain structured communication with donor.
6. Policy Advocacy & Networking
- Support community-government interface through CVA, scorecards, and action plans.
- Strengthen linkages to ensure SSP integration into local development agendas.
